This is Evan. He has a beard. He is my brother-in-law. He is the quietest of the five boys. This is refreshing because, truth be told, this is a family of talkers. Evan does not waste breath. He carefully plans out what he wants say, to ensure maximum impact when it is finally spoken aloud.
Evan is a longtime participant in a fantasy football league He is very serious about it. His weekly player line-ups and league trades are enviable. However, he can get carried away when using the 'Smack Talk' feature. There were many weeks last season where my self esteem suffered because of his razor sharp quips.
In a group setting with his other brothers, Evan blends right in. But, if you manage to observe him alone, in his own environment, you will be surprised to see his complete set of first edition Harry Potter books, his expertly solved Rubik's cube and you may even catch him watching the entire LOTR Trilogy in one sitting.
Evan is also an avid fan of action-packed television. He will not speak during said program, nor will he tolerate others to do so either. He refuses to watch the preview scenes for the upcoming episodes. God forbid, you are too slow when pausing the DVR. He will jump up, scream, cover his ears, close his eyes and run out of the room.
I admire his discipline. He could teach us all a few things about watching television.
