I love. LOVE. LOVE. art supplies.
I love everything about them. The way they smell and the way they feel. The perfectly sharpened points on the pencils and the clean, brand new erasers. The 'pop' of the caps snapping off the pens and the shrieking sound of new markers gliding across paper.
My kid has absolutely no respect for art supplies, specifically crayons. I just bought her a new box of twenty-four Crayolas. She peels the papers off them and throws them on the floor. She has broken off most of the points on them. Plus, she colors so hard that they routinely snap in half in her hands. I try to instill a little respect for the product in her, but I think that she is still a bit too young to truly understand.
"Madeleine, honey, be careful with those. Mama got you the nice Crayola crayons, not the cheap, waxy, generic ones that scratch and leaves gaps while you are coloring."
I just bought these yesterday:
-Watercolor Pencils Twelve rich and lovely colors in a little tin case.
-Black ink drawing pens Scroll down to the cute four-pack in the handy-dandy carrying case.
I plan to use them in the brand new and deliciously blank watercolor Moleskine I got for Christmas.
